Motor Oil Myth: Oil Change Times Aren't the Same for Every Vehicle

If you're only a little familiar with cars, then you might not be able to tell when someone is telling you the truth, and when someone is lying or simply doesn't know what they are talking about. The same is true about motor oils. There are all sorts of myths about motor oil, but hopefully we can set a few of them straight.

One of the most common myths is that you need to change your oil every 3,000 miles or 3 months. This isn't always the case. Some vehicles only need their oil changed every 5,000 or even 7,000 miles. If you're unsure, you can check your owner's manual, or you might have a vehicle that has a light that illuminates when it's time to change your oil.

If you're interested in debunking a few more myths, come to our service center at Land Rover Cerritos in Cerritos, CA and we'll be happy to shed some light on the confusion.
